The IGCS was a part of the RWTH Aachen University Go Abroad Fair on 14th October 2024. The Go Abroad Fair offers students an overview of various work and study abroad opportunities as well as funding programmes.
RWTH Aachen, which has had a partnership with IIT Madras since 1959. And, in 2010, the IGCS was opened at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in #Chennai, at the initiative of the German and Indian governments. IGCS is a part of the DAAD initiative “A New Passage to India” and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany (BMBF).
The centre simultaneously serves as a platform for research and academic exchange for Masters students, Doctoral candidates, and Scientists. Since 2012 that IGCS has been organising its flagship Winter & Summer Schools, facilitating exchange of 30 of the brightest scholars from German and Indian academic institutions who are dedicated to climate science.
Since then, IGCS has facilitated exchange of more than 900 students and researchers from both countries.
The IGCS team likes to thank its members- Lisa Van Aalst, Rahul Govind Rajkarnikar and Marvin Grieß for both organising this Go Abroad Fair and representing IGCS on this day.
